Two Months to Go!! In exactly two months (4th December), I will be hitting the Big40!!! I have been talking about setting this website up for quite a few months now and intended to chart the last six months down to my birthday and then what happens through my "40th Year" but time seems to have got the better of me. Well now seems as good a time as any to start this off so here goes: The ides of setting the website up came to me one wet evening when Donna, my wife and I were chatting about our jobs and the future etc. I have been building websites and working sel-employed for over thirteen years now and have had a few business ideas in my time. Some would have worked if I had bothered, some I am now glad that I did'nt bother with, some I did'nt bother with and have gone on to work....for others, and some I have bothered with and... I suppose I have never enjoyed working for anybody else. Whenever I sold well in another job such as estate agency I would not think about the commission I had earned but more of what I could have earned if the company had been mine!!! This means that through thick or thin, from the last time I was made redundant in 1994, one day before my marraige, I have always been answerable to just myself (other than the wife, Donna that is). So why "Your Big40"? Well it just seems that as my 40th is coming up fast I felt that I would be on the same wavelength as my site visitors with the same memories of Action Man, the Rubics Cube (which I could never do without cheating), Swap Shop, Grange Hill and some rather dodgy music which I still listen to today. I also noticed that although you can buy everything I am offering elsewhere there did not seem to be many companies that are specialising in that all important 40th birthday I do feel that my 40th is quite important. For me at least it is a time for wanting to think about the future and make some concrete plans as to where I want my life to go and I am hoping that building up this site will help me to achieve a few of my goals. I fear that this page will turn out very long. I talk and write far too much but hope over the coming weeks and months you will come back and see how me and the website are getting on and that you will find the site fun and enjoyable along with useful when looking for gift ideas for you or others.
